Zamioculcas ‘Zenzi’ is a compact, more sculptural take on the classic ZZ Plant.

Light:

Zamioculcas ‘Zenzi’ is very adaptable when it comes to light. It will do best around 1–2 metres from a South or West-facing window, or closer to an East or North-facing window. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may slow.

Water:

Less is more with this plant. Allow the soil to dry out fully between waterings, and always check the weight of the pot before watering — it should feel very light. When you do water, do so thoroughly and allow any excess to drain away. In winter, watering will be less frequent.

Soil:

A free-draining mix is essential. We recommend our chunky houseplant soil mix to prevent excess moisture sitting around the roots and rhizomes.

Temperature:

General household temperatures are perfect. Aim for somewhere between 15–25°C, and avoid cold draughts or placing it too close to radiators.

Feeding:

Feed lightly during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. There’s no need to feed during autumn and winter.

What to expect

This is a slow-growing plant that focuses on steady, reliable growth rather than rapid change. New stems will emerge from the base over time, gradually building a fuller plant.

Zamioculcas ‘Zenzi’ is extremely forgiving and will tolerate occasional neglect, making it a great choice if you want something that looks good without needing constant attention.
